Random Thoughts

Sitting here thinking about how fast life goes by. For instance....the summer is over for students in school...next Monday school STARTS back! That's crazy how fast time goes...but it's true, our days on earth are very short just like the word says...like a mist, James 4:14. We need to be busy about the work of the Lord...telling the good news to those who will listen. Also, Life Groups have my thoughts captivated. We will start Life Groups in our homes Sept. 12th (@FBC Cooper)and I am excited how the Lord has brought things together like He has. I believe this will really bring our church back to being a family again and reach out to the ones in cooper who do not have a church family. Be in prayer as we walk with the Lord in Life Groups...oh yeah we have been training Life Group Shepherds and its is some good stuff...I mean hard things to think about, but good in that it is really growing me and all the shepherds. The staff has felt lead to do Life Groups for around a year now....so now it's time to go! Last random thought....God has amazing plans for us! OK that's a no brainer...but seriously think about all the things in the bible that God did thought ordinary people. It's crazy huh...and let me just say we or I am pretty ordinary ...if you know what I mean. The verse in Acts 4:13 where it says that Peter and John were unschooled (great comfort!) and ordinary men really does something for me. My prayer for my life and the life of FBC Cooper is that He will do something extra ordinary in His church with a bunch of ordinary people, so that HE gets the glory for it all.

SEC 2010

David Crowder, Tenth Ave North, Skit Guys and great speakers made for a great weekend in Frisco. This past weekend was one to remember! We stayed in the Embassy Suite in Frisco which was connected to the Convention Center where SEC was held...it was awesome....we could walk from our "condo suite" to the conference in about 5 mins...the best part was having students saved and surrendering to the ministry...Holden Jenkins a senior was one of those students...its all worth the time and effort when that happens. We left there and went to North Ft. Worth where we helped a couple of churches with an outreach project in their community...that was also a highlight for me....2-3 thousand people hearing the gospel...some for the first time! All i can say is God is Great and is always inviting us to join Him in His work, if we will just DO It!
